left unsaid: "Alive in Cuba" (2009)
The LEFT UNSAID series explores a group of women who engage with social media. The story is broken up into discreet chapters where various groups of guests, often in two's, find a spot in Marisol's garden apartment to meet and chat. They are usually armed just with the information they gleamed from Facebook about their companions. As they dig deeper they learn from each other, are irritated by what they hear, and have their sense of certainty challenged. While technology drives much of the talk, it is often buried within conversations about motherhood, race, class, gentrification, music, and, of course, love & sex.
